About

Kristal Jane Apurado is a Registered Adult Nurse with over 10 years of international clinical experience across acute care, community services, renal medicine, long-term conditions, and complex patient pathways. Currently practising within an NHS Trust hospital in London, she brings advanced frontline expertise in respiratory care (including COPD and post-COVID recovery), patient safety, physiological monitoring (including SpO₂), discharge optimisation, and multidisciplinary care coordination.

She demonstrates strong academic and translational research potential, evidenced by international research awards, early scholarly dissemination, applied quality-improvement leadership, utilisation management experience, and independent health-technology innovation. She is the Founder and CEO of TalaStar Digital Health UK Ltd.

She is seeking an NIHR Pre-doctoral Research Fellowship to formalise research training, develop methodological expertise, and progress toward a PhD focused on respiratory and digital health innovation. Her long-term ambition is to become a clinician-academic nurse leader, translating frontline clinical insight, digital innovation, and patient-centred research into measurable public and patient benefit within the NHS and global healthcare systems.
